Grafting season will start early this year

Young seedling trees have begun their springtime flush of new growth (photo at left) signaling that its time to start grafting.  I noticed that some of our seedling tree are much farther along than others with some trees just starting to push (photo below).
Even though some trees are ready to graft,  I like to wait until all trees in a field are ready so I can just graft every tree down each row. Waiting a little bit and grafting a whole row at a time means that I'm less likely to make scionwood errors.
We will start grafting next week (April 9-13) which is at least two weeks ahead our usual grafting time.
